Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Mehmood Shah has paid tribute to outfit’s Commander Abu Al-Qasim Shafat Hussain who was killed in a gunfight with government forces in Arizal, Budgam on Sunday.

Lashkar spokesperson Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi in a statement issued quoted the outfit chief as saying that the educated youth have given a new direction to the freedom struggle. “The youth have understood that there is no mightier answer to India's atrocities other than gun.

It is mainly because Indian forces don’t follow the war ethics,” he said. “Abu Al-Qasim was an educated young man who opted to pick up gun after his graduation to seek just right and attained martyrdom.

He is an exemplary model for the youth,” the LeT chief said and thanked people who “despite relentlessly facing obstructions gathered at martyred commander's funeral and paid tribute to him”. “Such sacrifices will continue with the support of nation till freedom,” Mehmood Shah said.
